THE BEAUTY OF THE QUR’AN: TAFSIR OF SURAH AR-RAHMAN
Surah ar-Rahman follows a simple beautiful rhythm, with the meaning and intonation of the verses reinforcing the main theme of the surah, which is manifesting two of Allah (swt) attributes: His Mercy and Grace.
The surah brings to light the wonders of Allah (swt) power, His countless blessings and our own helplessness and accountability before Him. We are forewarned of the grave consequences of disobedience to Allah (swt) and the best results of obedience to Him (glorious and exalted is He).
This is the only surah of the Qur’an in which mankind and the jinn [the other creation on earth with freedom of will and action], are directly addressed and made to realise the wonders of Allah (swt) power. They are invited to ponder 31 times in this surah of 78 verses: “Then which of the favours of your Lord will you [both] deny?’’
Ask yourself…
• Do you deny your Lords favours?
• Can you answer with a degree of certainty, “Oh Allah, I do not deny your favours”
• Do your actions support this claim?
• Are you in a state of thankful recognition of Allah (swt) countless blessings on you or your focus on what you do not have or you’re yet to receive?
Attend the Beauty of the Qur’an: Tafsir Surah ar-Rahman and…
• Learn about creation and origination.
• Understand the correct way to manifest your appreciation of Allah’s favours.
• Discover the rewards that Allah has prepared for those who merely believe in Him and His Messenger (saw) and those who go the extra mile to excel in their deen in this life.
• Be certain of what awaits those who do not abandon shirk and disobedience to Allah (swt).
• Know what we have to do to be among those who enjoy the delights of paradise and avoid the horrors of the day of resurrection.
Verily this (Qur’an) is an admonition, so whosoever wills, let him take a Path to his Lord. (76:29)
Take a decisive step towards Allah and
